# Search for Pair Production of Scalar Top Quarks Decaying to a τ Lepton and a b Quark in p p ¯ Collisions at s = 1.96 TeV

ABSTRACT

We search for pair production of supersymmetric top quarks (t over1), followed by R-parity violating decay t over1-->taub with a branching ratio beta, using 322 pb(-1) of pp over collisions at sqrt s=1.96 TeV collected by the upgraded Collider Detector at Fermilab. Two candidate events pass our final selection criteria, consistent with the standard model expectation. We set upper limits on the cross section sigma(t over1t over1) x beta2 as a function of the top-squark mass m(t over1). Assuming beta=1, we set a 95% confidence level limit m(t over1)>153 GeV/c2. The limits are also applicable to the case of a third-generation scalar leptoquark (LQ3) decaying LQ3-->taub.

##### Article: Supersymmetry Without Prejudice

ABSTRACT: We begin an exploration of the physics associated with the general CP-conserving MSSM with Minimal Flavor Violation, the pMSSM. The 19 soft SUSY breaking parameters in this scenario are chosen so as to satisfy all existing experimental and theoretical constraints assuming that the WIMP is a conventional thermal relic, ie, the lightest neutralino. We scan this parameter space twice using both flat and log priors for the soft SUSY breaking mass parameters and compare the results which yield similar conclusions. Detailed constraints from both LEP and the Tevatron searches play a particularly important role in obtaining our final model samples. We find that the pMSSM leads to a much broader set of predictions for the properties of the SUSY partners as well as for a number of experimental observables than those found in any of the conventional SUSY breaking scenarios such as mSUGRA. ABSTRACT: We have searched for third generation leptoquarks (LQ3) using 1.05 fb(-1) of data collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider operating at sqrt[s]=1.96 TeV. We set a 95% C.L. lower limit of 210 GeV on the mass of a scalar LQ3 state decaying solely to a b quark and a tau lepton.

##### Article: Probing R-parity violating models of neutrino mass at the LHC

ABSTRACT: It is shown that the R-parity violating decays of the lighter top squarks (${\widetilde t}_1$) triggered by the lepton number violating couplings $\lambda^{\prime}_{i33}$, where the lepton family index i = 1-3, can be observed at the LHC via the dilepton di-jet channel even if the coupling is as small as 10$^{-4}$ or 10$^{-5}$, which is the case in several models of neutrino mass, provided it is the next lightest supersymmetric particle(NLSP) the lightest neutralino being the lightest supersymmetric particle(LSP). We have first obtained a fairly model independent estimate of the minimum observable value of the parameter ($P_{ij} \equiv BR(\widetilde t \to l_i^+ b) \times BR(\widetilde t^* \to l_j^- \bar b$)) at the LHC for an integrated luminosity of 10fb$^{-1}$ as a function of $\mlstop$ by a standard Pythia based analysis. We have then computed the parameter $P_{ij}$ in several representative models of neutrino mass constrained by the neutrino oscillation data and have found that the theoretical predictions are above the estimated minimum observable levels for a wide region of the parameter space.
