First time, detection of geopathic location has been done using dowsing and geo-resistivity meter method. It is found that, inside geopathic stress copper L rods gets deflected. Electrical resistivity decreases as water content increases.

Abstract

I.Introduction
Geopathic stress (GS) is a natural phenomenon which affects certain places and can be damaging to human
health [1]. The most usual cause of geopathic stress is certain minerals concentration, usually an underground water
stream, flowing beneath a house [2]. The water rapidly flowing through rock gives rise to an electromagnetic field which
can affect the health of those living above it [3]. Geopathic stress can also arise from a geological fault line [4] that is, a
deep crack in the bedrock which allows radiation from deep within the earth to come up to the surface. Literature survey
reveals that geopathic stress may be a form of imbalanced electromagnetic energy spectrum or subtle energy [5].
Several authors [6-9] and many others have reported the presence of ground water vein as one of the
aetiological factors for certain type of diseases (cancer, illness)[10-14] and others have tried to show the ability of human
body ( i.e. dowser) to detect subterranean features.
Researchers offer science based explanations about detection of geopathic stress zone by studying possible
influences of geopathic stress on the human body, and suggest that it somehow interferes with brain function and affects
the release of melatonin, a hormone with particular importance for the immune system [15-16]. According to these
theories, dowsers are assumed to have a kind of specifically trained magnetic sense that gives them the ability to detect
certain natural fields [17-18]. Some studies in this area are focused on the ability of dowsers to detect water and technical
electromagnetic fields. However, in present work empirical studies on detection of geopathic stress using dowsing and
surface geophysical technique are elaborated.
II. Study Area
Extensive survey was carried out around Pune city based on which about twenty geopathic stress zone locations were
identified by using dowsing method and with geophysical vertical electrical resistivity survey in residential, commercial
areas, and transport routes like state and national highways in and around Pune city, Pune district of Maharashtra state,
India. Details of each location are given in figure 1. Geologically Pune district is underlain by Deccan basaltic flows
belonging to Cretaceous to Eocene periods.

III. Material and Method
3.1 Dowsing using copper L-rod
It is popularly known as divining. It is both an art and an empirical science. Empirical in the sense that the
dowsers or diviners have not been able to put forth an acceptable explanation of their ability to detect ground water,
minerals , oil, deposit etc with so simple as instrument as a mere forked twig, copper L rod , simple pendulum. The L rods
can be made of any material like copper, brass, steel etc. A pair of coat hangers bent to in an L can serve the purpose. The
hand held section of the rod is six to ten inches in length. It is bent at right angle. The length of bent section can be from
ten to eighteen inches long.
Using L-rods the correct way of holding the rods is to hold them one in each hand, slightly away from the body
in a parallel position. The L-rods will be more sensitive if one holds them horizontally and give better response in this
position. If they are held with tips pointing below the horizontal, they become less responsive and slower to react.
3.2 Electrical Resistivity surface method
Numerous investigations have established the usefulness of surface electrical resistivity as a tool for detection of
ground water [19-21]. It involves study of those parts of the earth hidden from direct view by measuring their physical
properties with appropriate instruments, usually on or above the surface [22-24]. It also includes the interpretation of the
measurement to obtain useful information on the structure and composition of the concealed zones [25]. The tools and
techniques developed for such studies have been used in exploration for hydrocarbons, minerals and groundwater [26-28].
IV.Method
An area of investigation was taken large enough, of grid size 20m X 20m with each grid strip width of about 2
meter, to assure that geopathic stress zones are identified with the help of an experienced dowser using copper L-rods.
The dowser walked on the investigated area in all possible directions and located the geopathic stress zone (Fig.2).
In the present study, the vertical electrical resistivity or geo-resistivity meter technique was used to confirm the
existence of the underground water veins detected by the dowser. The Schlumberger method (Fig.3) of determining the
electrical resistivity was used at two spots 1. In a residential area 2. Mumbai-Pune expresses way. In this method, four
electrodes are arranged in co-linear and symmetric manner. The two outer electrodes are termed as the current electrodes
and are kept at a larger interval than the other two inner electrodes, termed as the potential electrodes. After proper
earthing, the current is passed through the outer electrodes and the potential difference across the inner electrodes is
measured. Based on this, the electrical resistivity of the subsurface strata is determined up to the depth of 50 m.

V. Results
When the dowser moves over the investigated area, it is seen that when there is no geopathic stress, the rods
remain parallel to each other. The characteristic ‘turning of the rod’ occurs at the moment the dowser walks over the
geopathic stress zone. Underground water vein flow direction gets marked after confirmation of geopathic stress zone
(Figure 2).
The graph of electrical resistivity in ohms with the current electrode distance is plotted (Figure 4.1 and 4.2).
From both the figures it can be seen that at the groundwater locations identified by dowser, a sudden drop in electrical
resistivity is noticed, confirming the presence of the groundwater zone.
Percentage of water is more in geopathic zone as compared to normal zone. Liquid limit, specific gravity, density
(g/cu.cm) and plastic limit (%) has a greater value in geopathic stress zone as compared to normal zone.
VII. Discussion
In a geopathic stress zone, electrical resistivity decreases as both water content and concentration of dissolved
salts increases. The sudden change in a resistivity values indicates a change in subsurface strata. In the present study the
area is underlain Deccan Trap Zeolitic basalt with 25 cm of black cotton soil with 2 to 5 % of sand size Zeolitic minerals,
followed by 3.4 metres of weathered basalt underlain by compact Zeolitic basalts. (Photo 5.1, 5.2). Especially when a
water zone is detected, the dip in the electrical resistivity value is significant. In the present study, the depth of
groundwater at the two locations was approximately in the range of 150 m and 250 m respectively.

VIII. Conclusion
From the comparative study of resistivity technique and L rod dowsing, we can authenticate dowsing. The
authenticity of dowsing will help us in the study of investigation of Geopathic stress. It will also help us to find water
veins in the ground and hence provide a quicker method for detection of water. Presently, due to congested building
arrangement the technique of resistivity meter is very lengthy and requires large area (as spacing of electrodes is equal to
depth of investigations). But the dowsing by L rods is more suitable for these areas. Also it is a faster method and can be
used in built-up structures where the resistivity technique cannot be used.

Geopathogenic zones are defined as inhomogeneities in the Earth's crust that emit electromagnetic radiation. These zones can also affect people without awareness and perception. Currently, the animal and plant kingdom as well as the human population live in a time with many electronic devices that can also affect us to some extent. Therefore, geopathogenic zones (GPZ) can also be one of the theoretical triggers of various diseases. The study aimed to determine the theoretical occurrence of geopathogenic zones and their effect on plants, animals, and the human body. Theoretically approach the occurrence of geopathogenic zones. In this study, data were obtained by using an anonymous questionnaire. A total of 202 respondents participated in the study, of which 56 were men and 146 women. The questionnaire consisted of 34 questions divided into 5 sections. Each of our respondents uses a mobile phone, which can to some extent affect our sleep, but also our health. Geopathogenic zones also occur near the dwellings where our respondents live. We assume that the animals of our respondents avoid geopathogenic zones as observed and predicted by studies. Geological research on the land can show us the presence of groundwater, changes in soil composition, and the possible occurrence of geopathogenic zones. All these arguments should be found even better to examine the issue since geopathogenic zones in the world are very under-represented. GPZ is one of the possible factors that can cause feelings of discomfort, various anomalies, or even health problems.

بعد إقرار منظمة الصحة العالمية في بداية الثمانينيات وجود ما يُطلق عليه متلازمة المباني المغلقة أو المباني المريضة والتي كان من أهم أسبابها تتعدد المؤثرات المتواجدة في الفراغات المعمارية والتي كان لها تأثير على الحالة الصحية والإنتاجية للمتواجدين بتلك الفراغات والتى من أبرز أسبابها مصادر المجالات الكهرومغناطيسية Electromagnetic fields (EMF)، خاصة الهواتف المحمولة والتي أصبحت متواجدة بكثافة في كل الفراغات المعمارية التي يتواجد بها الأفراد، والتي تتفاعل الإشعاعات المنبعثة منها مع أعضاء الجسم البشري ما يؤدي الى ظهور العديد من الأمراض والأعراض التي تم رصدها في الكثير من الأبحاث والتجارب، فقد صار إيجاد حلول لإزالة الآثار الضارة لهذه المؤثرات مشكلة تقع على عاتق كل مصمم ومعماري يسعى لتصميم مساحات آمنة وصحية لقاطني المباني. وبما أن العديد من الدراسات والأبحاث أظهرت أن التشكيلات المعمارية لها دور في تحسين الحالة الصحية للأفراد المتواجدين في الفراغ، وأن بعض التشكيلات تعمل على رفع كفاءة الجهاز المناعي ودعم الإستشفاء الذاتي، فقد سعى البحث إلى التحقق من صحة ودقة هذه المعلومات والتي تفيد بإن هناك تأثير متبادل بين تشكيل الفراغ وسلوك الطاقة به ما يؤثر على صحة قاطنيه، وذلك من خلال إستعراض وتحليل الدراسات والتجارب السابقة التي حاولت التحقق من مصداقية وجود ما يطلق علية أسم (قوة الشكل أوالتشكيل)، وتم اختيار خمس تشكيلات معمارية شاع عنها تاريخياً ومن خلال الدراسات والتجارب احتوائها على قدرات خاصة (من حيث التأثير الإيجابي على صحة القاطنين بها)، واختبارها معملياً في إحدى معامل المركز القومي للبحوث، عن طريق تصنيع نماذج صغيرة منها متماثلة في الحجم واللون ومادة الصُنع، وجعلها صالحة للعيش من قِبل فئران التجارب، والتي تم تسكينها داخل هذه الفراغات لمدة ثلاثة أشهر، وتعريضها للأشعة المنبعثة من الهاتف المحمول والمقدرة بقيمة تردد 880 -915 ميجاهرتز، ثم اختبار بعض العوامل الحيوية التي تُعد مؤشراً للصحة العامة لهذه الكائنات مثل وظائف الكبد، ونسب تواجد عوامل ومضادات الأكسدة، و بعض اختبارات السلوك الدالة على مدى تأثر الذاكرة طويلة المدى وقصيرة المدى و القدرة على الإدراك والتركيز وعدم التردد واختبارات فحص مجهري لرصد الحالة الصحية لخلايا المخ والكبد. وقد أظهرت بيانات التجارب أن الإشعاع الكهرومغناطيسي الصادر من الهواتف المحمولة قد تسبب في اضطرابات في المؤشرات الحيوية لوظائف الكبد ومعلمات الإجهاد التأكسدي في الأنسجة الكبدية ودم الفئران، كما تسبب في حدوث اضطرابات في وظيفة الحصين والحالة الإدراكية والذاكرة، وتضرر واضح في أنسجة وخلايا المخ، كما أظهرت نتائج التجربة أن المعيشة داخل الأقفاص أو الفراغات ذات التشكيلات المعمارية التاريخية (التي تم تحديدها وفقاً للأدبيات والتجارب السابقة) قد أضعفت مُعظم التأثيرات الصحية السلبية، وجاءت النتائج بشكل متفاوت في إشارة إلى أن لكُل شكل تأثيره الخاص، ومع ذلك فإن الآلية الدقيقة الكامنة وراء هذه الآثار لا تزال غير واضحة، وفي النهاية قد توفر هذه الدراسة إرشادات للمصممين والمعماريين لاستخدام هذه التشكيلات المذكورة في إنشاء المستشفيات والمدارس وغيرها من المباني القريبة من محطة الترددات الراديوية الخاصة بالهاتف المحمول كوسيلة للتخفيف من ضعف الإدراك ولتحسن الذاكرة المكانية ولتحسين الوظيفة البيولوجية.

The measure of earth resistivity is a possible means of detecting and outlining zones of ground-water contamination where a resistivity contrast exists between contaminated and unconcaminated ground water. As a preliminary evaluation of the use of electrical resistivity for defining zones of contaminated ground water, five sites on Long Island and three sites in western Texas were examined. The surveys at three of the Long Island sites and at one of the western Texas sites were at least partially successful in their objectives. The lack of success at the other sites is attributed to the particular physical conditions that existed. Further effort toward developing electrical resistivity as a method for evaluating variations in ground-water quality is encouraged.

A new method is presented for supplementing data from piezometers to monitor waste disposal sites. This method involves examination of a time sequence of resistivity measurements at fixed points in a disposal area. Spent sulfite liquor moving away from a seepage pit was traced by examining a grid of earth resistivity measurements made before and after dumping had taken place. An important part of every investigation of ground-water pollution is to locate and define the extent of the contaminated body of ground water. The usual method for accomplishing this is to install and sample numerous test wells, a costly and time-consuming procedure. A much faster and less costly method, which has proven to give accurate results, is the earth resistivity survey. Because earth resistivity is inversely proportional to ground-water conductivity, the location of ground water that has been contaminated by a relatively high concentration of conductive industrial wastes, for example, may be quickly and accurately traced.

To aid in determining the direction of ground-water flow after the effluent from the Lake George Village sewage treatment plant is discharged onto natural delta sand beds, resistivity studies were made in the soil (sand) in the vicinity of the recharge beds. Ground water having high dissolved solids is identified as producing lower resistivity readings. The sewage effluent has a higher dissolved solids content than the existing ground water in the area. The path of the recharged sewage effluent, as identified by lower resistivity readings, appears to flow in a northerly direction from the sewage treatment plant along Gage Road toward West Brook. Due to interferences, the resistivity studies could not show whether the high conductivity ground water flows into or under West Brook.

Electrical earth resistivity and soil temperature surveys have been conducted in the vicinity of four sanitary landfills in northeastern Illinois to test the possibility of detecting and tracing any chemical or temperature alteration of ground water by leachates from buried refuse. Reference data on water quality, levels, and movement were provided by a system of monitor wells drilled for a hydrogeologic study of the landfills. The resistivity survey, which was in homogeneous silty sand outwash, traced mineralized water from the landfill for a distance of more than 1000 feet. Apparent resistivity values were one fourth those obtained from unaffected areas. Interpretations of direction of ground-water flow and location of discharge boundaries from the geophysical data agree vith interpretations based on the monitor well data. The soil temperature survey indicated the presence of a halo of higher temperatures around the landfill and indicated areas of surface recharge. The geophysical surveys show, in general, that chemically altered water is traceable in uniform earth materials where the depth of the water table is constant.

Positive responses (dowsing signals) were evoked from 14 male "dowsers" by exposure to artificial electromagnetic (ac) fields. When the kidney area was shielded, such responses failed to occur. This suggests that magnetic sensors exist in man, probably located in the renal vicinity. Extinction of response was also observed when the head was shielded. This suggests the existence of additional magnetic sensory apparatus in the brain. Discrimination among magnetic patterns (signatures) is hypothesized to account for the apparent ability of dowsers to find specific underground substances, notably water. Such discrimination would require functional association of the sensory apparatus with a signature processor. Data are presented suggesting that this sensor-processor complex does indeed exist and may be located in the vicinity of the pineal gland.
