The present project - treatment works, pumping station, sewers and outfall - grew from these studies and from pressure to provide for sewage disposal from the southern part of Irvine New Town. The treatment plant cost POUND 3. 9m; the pumping station, POUND 2. 6m and the outfall itself, POUND 4m - a total of POUND 13m.
