  • Training fo job applications (Professorships in Germany) in July, together with two professional trainers.
  • AEM conference, including networking event in September.

20 young scholars joined our JMED-virtual meeting on Monday. We decided to have this opportunity once a month, starting a bit later (8pm) so that is easier for parents to join us. The meeting is moderated for 60 minutes; getting to know each other, focus on particular topics, and then updating everyone about current JMED-activities. After that, the moderated meeting slowly changes into an informal evening giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy their favorite drink in virtual company.
We will announce the next meetings here, on our homepage and the AEM-Mailing-List. Please do not hesitate to write me if any questions occur. Hope to see you!

The current situation has an impact on our working situation: Many of us face new challenges such as digital teaching, childcare and finding a new structure of their everyday lives. In addition, a social part of academia is also missing: getting in touch personally after working groups, workshops and conferences with a glass of wine.
JMED aims to provide a platform for young researchers in the field of medical ethics - especially in the current situation. Therefore we cordially invite to first virtual JMED regulars' table! The aim is to talk in a relaxed atmosphere about the things that currently concern us. In addition, we want to find out together the needs and topics for future meetings in order to create a fixed virtual structure if necessary.
When? Monday, 11 May 2020, from 7 pm
Who? All JMED target groups
How? The videoconference takes place via Zoom. A link will be sent to the JMED members and subscribers of our newsletter or distributed by the AEM.
There is no need for preparation, AEM membership or prior JMED activity. If there are any special requests or ideas for the meeting, please feel free to send them in advance to Solveig Hansen (solveig-lena.hansen@medizin.uni-goettingen.de).

In times of home office, JMED starts to build exchange options between young scientists in the field of medical ethics and provides a suitable platform for this purpose.
Peer Mentoring
If necessary, all active members are expected to assist others with their own expertise in the form of peer mentoring. To this end, we keep an internally accessible list of active members and their personal skills: these can be thematic, methodological, or didactic, but they can also be in strategic or administrative areas - i.e. in the fields of project planning, publication strategies, commission work, or interviewing. Over time, we hope to develop a structure in which doctoral students and post-docs can support each other and develop a broad spectrum of expertise.
Interested?
And workshops?
Of course, there will be opportunities for personal exchange. More soon!
