The book is part of the UNESCO Janusz Korczak Chair’s book series, published under the patronage of the Polish Commission for UNESCO, as an outcome and a resource for the International Summer Schools, organized since 2006, at the Maria Grzegorzewska University in Warsaw, the city of Korczak. This newly edited volume is dedicated to Janusz Korczak’s heritage and its relevance to current affairs, especially to situations caused by the recent pandemic. The themes presented in this book include educational and social problems with a particular emphasis on human and children’s rights, social inequalities and access to education. The chapters in the book were authored by both well-established academics and by emerging researchers from Argentina, Germany, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Turkey, USA and Poland. The book includes an essay on digital activism by Waliya Yohanna Joseph, which was awarded the Janusz Korczak Prize for Global South 2020.
