The development of an in-service teacher training program for instructors teaching content courses in English as the Medium of Instruction (EMI) Universities in Turkey

Goal: This "THE SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGICAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF TURKEY (TÜBİTAK) 1001" Project, which is coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Hale Işık Güler from Middle East Technical University (METU), aims to investigate the teaching and learning procedures at English Medium Instruction (EMI) universities in Turkey with the attempt to explore the effective and ineffective practices. The researchers also aim to report the factors that lead to some interactional breakdowns about achieving their program goals in EMI context because of the fact that
the language of instruction is different from that of the national language.

Dear All,
Update from universities in Istanbul:
As of Monday (18 April 2022), we started data collection at Boğaziçi and Kadir Has Universities. We are so excited about this process and being part of this larger project. We have a great dynamic support team composed of undergraduate and graduate students and post-doctoral researchers who are trained to help us with the data collection process. We are very grateful to them all. We would also like to thank Dr. Işık-Guler and her Ankara team for their guidance during the data collection process.
