Goal: My final year, 6,000 word dissertation. I plan to look at how modern boybands, with a focus on the K-Pop group BTS and the American group Brockhampton, are challenging masculinities and the generic stereotypes of the ‘boyband’ in regard to representation, sexuality, etc. I also plan on looking at the online fandoms/communities of both groups on Twitter and Reddit, and feel it will be interesting to compare the two fandoms.
