Set-up of the long-term experimental site EARL (erosion and runoff laboratory) for field-scale erosion of cropland soils

Goal: Design the set-up and techniques for a long-term experimental field to measure the erosion and transport of pesticides and nutrients due to heavy precipitation on agricultural soils. The field will consist of 14 different combinations of crop rotation schemes and more or less ecological techniques for weed control. It is located close to the Ruhstorf department of the Bavarian Institute for Agriculture (LfL, https://www.lfl.bayern.de/ruhstorf/index.php), shall be fully operational from 2024 and in the following measure more than 10 years.
