added an update
On January 13th, parts of the SLU project team went to Gotland to conduct a workshop on entrepreneurship with practitioners. As a basis for the discussions, there were two chapters on entrepreneurship in relation to different values and a painting story about slowly moving forward. The chapters raised interesting aspects of ventures that live in deep symbiosis with their close surroundings.
Outreach work play a key role in the project, as we believe that contemporary entrepreneurship research regarding rural areas should be promoted and spread to the public and practitioners.

On Friday, September 13, we gathered in the project together with representatives from Heby, Östhammar and Gotland. The purpose of the workshop was a dialogue about entrepreneurship in different forms, based on the project group's chapter draft.
The external participants had different inputs for their involvement in rural development; non-profit, as entrepreneurs or as civil servants.
The stories that form the basis for the various texts come from the three municipalities that were represented in the workshop. Most of the material has been collected by students in different ways, in combination with the project group themselves, and both interviewed and observed different processors on site.
The chapters discussed were:
Building children's countryside - Social entrepreneurship and value creation, Josefina Jonsson
Event in Heby as an entrepreneurial process and stage, Gustav Broms
Gender perspective - A key to highlighting and understanding entrepreneurship in rural areas, Katarina Pettersson
Participation in a new socio-cultural geography, Gustav Broms
Supporting foreign-born entrepreneurs on the countryside - With keys instead of pointers? Katarina Pettersson
More chapters will be added and be compiled in an anthology about different types of entrepreneurship for a flourishing countryside!
