E RDEI K. (2008): About the Bee-eater (Merops apiaster) in southern Mühlviertel, Upper Austria. — Vogelkdl. Nachr. OÖ. – Naturschutz aktuell 2008, 16 (2). After the breeding of the bee-eater in a sand pit in the southern Mühlviertel in 2005 (E RDEI 2006), the birds breeded in the same area in 2006, 2007 and 2008, too. The number of the observed bee-eaters increased from year to year, in August 2008 to 35 exemplars. We can judge this as the comeback of the bee-eaters in this area. I will give an overview about the observations and about the succes of the breeding in 2006-2008.
