MEET - Maternal Engagement and Eye-Tracking study

Goal: How does infants' visual impairment affect the way mothers interact with them?

In this research project, we want to explore if and how the presence of visual impairment in the child affects the way mothers behave during the interaction. We will take advantage of eye-tracking techniques, in order to focus on the visual exploration that mothers make when interacting with the children and when trying to interpret their children's emotional state.

The study is supported by the Italian Ministry of Health. This is a collaboration between the IRCCS Mondino Foundation (Pavia, Italy) and the Italian Institute of Technology (Genova, Italy).
