Large Scope High Precision UVLED Nanoimprint Replication System

Goal: Objective 1. Demonstrate a high-precision replication system to achieve a nanostructured substrate at 300x300 mm by using PMDS stamp with inside LED curing light.

Object 2. Create new business opportunities and jobs in the European graphic printing industry by upgrading their existing equipment and expanding added-value products in the fast-growing flexible printed electronics market

One of the application of micro/nano embossing process is used for high Security printing to create optical or holographic feature on film and paper which used for passport, banknotes etc and so on. During the nano-embossing process, one of the biggest problem that UV lacquer stick on casting/embossing cylinder instead of film. As our experience, UV lacquer stick on nickel master mostly caused by " un-complete finish UV curing". For example, if UV light only cure the surface but not inside, some of UV lacquer will stick on the master roller when object film passes through master roller. As similar as ink drying process, the light will be difficulty to reach inside through the hard-finish surface even more UV energy is provided. This is why UV lacquer still stick on cylinder even people use 2-3 UV lamps. DPL Patented Cold UV curing system will solved this problem by deep-curing technology and low curing temperature.
