Due to dynamic development in Information and Communication Technology, Bhutan has seen a rapid increase in the use of social media, applications, and other ICT tools. This technology had made the life of all Bhutanese comfortable. However, the downside of the technology is limiting to use of Dzongkha. Therefore, most users are fluent in English as compared to Dzongkha even though the latter is an official language. The paper aims to study the status of the bilingual competence of Bhutanese children, perception of language technology development and indicate some avenues for a way forward. To conduct the study mixed method was adopted and also synthesized a variety of academic and grey literature. The article highlights the measures taken for language preservation through digital technology and a scope to incorporate in Bhutanese education system.
The objective is to propose a training model for teachers in the face of a disruptive change and the need for virtual education due to the health contingency caused by COVID19. The methodology is of a mixed nature with study exploratory, non-experimental, and descriptive. 104 teachers form a sample not parametric, intentional and for convenience. The results show three triggering dimensions for the development of knowledge, skills, and competencies; aimed at teachers derived from educational needs by change of modality. The findings allow the construction of a teaching training model according to current educational needs. The limitation of the model lies in its adaptation to the system itself institutional teaching.
Scientific English is a section of academic English which refers to the study of scientific subjects like biology and chemistry rather than humanistic subjects such as history and literature. The teaching of Scientific English can be a demanding task for language teachers since it concerns not only the common instruction of linguistic aspects of the language but also imparting the knowledge of a specific scientific topic. The aim of this paper is to discuss a personal experience about the teaching of Scientific English in an Italian academic context and the assessment of productive skills, writing and speaking. The discussion concerns the activities that are suggested to the students to improve their abilities to speak and write in English at an academic level. The learners' task was basically to prepare an oral presentation and to write an abstract on a topic of their interest. The stimulation of personal interest was essential to increase motivation and participation to the activities since this training may undoubtedly have a practical use in academic and professional contexts. Specifically, the learners consisted of a group of medical students attending a postgraduate school whereas the teacher was an English instructor with a long experience of language teaching at university as well as a medical doctor, thus assuming the double role of linguistic and science expert. In the end, the learning experience was positive, stimulating, and constructive for the improvement of both language productive skills.

The present paper is an attempt to simplify and comprehend what Cognitive Linguistics deals. It helps the learners, students of linguistics and teachers of ELT understand the characteristics and phenomena of Cognitive Linguistics, providing a succinct overview of Cognitive Linguistics. It is an interdisciplinary branch of linguistics and a cluster of overlapping approaches to the study of language as a mental phenomenon. Linguistics basically focuses on the sounds, words, grammar rules and rules of a language consisting of phonology (the sound system), morphology (the structure of words), syntax (the arrangement of words into sentences) and semantics (meanings). Cognitive linguistics is an integrated model - a collection of comprehensive investigations of a wide range of cognitive and linguistic phenomena.
