Project log
Studies by CRCCARE in 2009 confirmed that carcinogenic compounds and sensitizers are adsorbed on respirable dust particles that are emitted from alumina refineries and the associated red mud residue areas. The adsorbed carcinogens and sensitizers can react to form new carcinogens before being released on contact with human tissue. These comments provide more information on this chemical hazard with a literature review.
