Gender based dimensions and perspectives of female community health workers: A multi-country qualitative exploration

Goal: This project aims to explore the gender-based dimensions of female community health workers (CHWs) and their perspectives on working in health sector. It will explore female CHWs motivation to work in health sector, their positionality, gender-based discrimination, their experiences while working in hard-t-reach areas and the challenges they face. It will also explore the acceptability of CHWs in the community and their organizational hierarchy. We will conduct phone interviews with selected CHWs from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Kenya, Sierra Leone and Philippines.
