DITAC - Digital Transformation of China’s Agriculture

Goal: The global demand for nutritious, safe, and healthy food is ever increasing. China, with scare arable land and water resources, faces a huge challenge in feeding its vast population. In recent years, China started to resort to digitalization technologies as key strategies to transform agricultural production and food value chains towards efficient, resilient, and sustainable systems. The main objective of the DITAC project is to analyze and evaluate the digitalization transition in the Chinese agricultural and food sector with regard to their impact on production, natural resource use and trade.
