Polyvinyl chloride or PVC is a thermolastic material that is easily found in everyday life, is also the most popular plastic used and produced. Polyvinyl chloride has beneficial properties compared to other polymers, such as flame resistance, durability, affordable prices, and others. Polyvinyl chloride is a polymer formed from the polymerization of its monomer, vinyl chloride. Vinyl chloride is made from ethylene and chloride, the ethylene comes from crude oil and natural gas, while the chloride comes from chlor-alkali electrolysis. PVC can be a rigid or flexible polymer with the help of additional materials or additives such as plasticizers. This plasticizer was developed to increase flexibility, workability, or distensibility. In the construction industry sector, PVC is the most significant for use around 60%-70%. This PVC is used for making pipes, cables, films, floors, paper, coatings, and others.
