Happy new year to everyone,
The Journal of Medical Research and Innovation (JMRI) received 29 submissions and accepted-15, rejected-12 and still in review-2.
JMRI also got indexed in Index Copernicus with ICV 79.03.
We got support from Dimensions, Altmetrics and Plum X without any cost.
We now have our own DOI number (previously we used BioMedPress's DOI sponsored by Dr. Phuc Pham). We were accepted to be published by MedKnow Publisher, but due to budget constraints, we couldn't go forward (In future we may ask them again to publish JMRI, once we get the financial burden behind us).
We have been cited 67 times in last two years (appx 55 papers are published in last two years which includes editorials, acknowledgement, and excluding abstracts).
We have applied for Thomson Reuters, Scopus and Embase indexing.
The open peer review has been continued till date since we started on 8th October, 2017.
Overall, 2018 was a great year for us and hopefully, 2019 will be even better.

Magnetic Resonance Methods and Techniques “Autumn School of Magnetic Resonance Applications in Medicine & Neuroscience” 18 October 2018, Villa Santa Teresa – Bagheria (Pa)
AIMS AND RECIPIENTS The basic course of the “Autumn School of Magnetic Resonance Applications in Medicine & Neuroscience” aims to tackle and develop the principles behind MR methods and techniques. We welcome any participants with at least a three-year university degree such as Radiography, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and all those (i.e. Radiologists, Radio-oncologists, Oncologists, Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Radiographers) who, utilize MR applications at different levels, or who want to acquire or expand professional skills by attending one or more course modules since registration to single modules is allowed. The basic course also provides propaedeutic competences towards the advanced course, whose contents will soon be released in detail. The project also offers the opportunity to attend to one or more basic modules to undergraduate students in Physics, Chemistry and Engineering with the opportunity to earn University credits. These opportunities will be regulated by agreements with University Departments approved by the Director of the International School. The admission to the courses will be evaluated by the Chair of SC and applications submitted with also a MR project proposal are preferred. Entries will be assessed on a case-to-case basis by the President of the Scientific Board. The most successful application will be rewarded with a free admission to the course. Some participants might be eligible to a discounted fee, in which case the eligibility will be assessed on a case-to-case basis. The basic course will be propaedeutic to the advanced course which will take place next spring and whose contents will be soon go public and will also include any topics from the previous course that need further discussion.

Journal of Medical Research and Innovation has been accepted to be published by Medknow (Wolters Kluwer) from 2019 on wards. However, we would need a sponsor for the publication cost as levied upon by Medknow.
With that said, we are actively looking for a sponsor and an affiliation with an institution or medical society. If any one is interested to affiliate their society or institution with us and would like to be a sponsor for getting JMRI published by Medknow (Wolters Kluwer), kindly get in touch with us on editor@jmri.org.in

Last time I receive many proposals to publish an original article, clinical case or review. I check all proposal, I looked through the web pages all proposal journal and made certain conclusions. As for me, taking into account the design of the site, the simplicity for the user, the availability of all the necessary tools, especially as regards the citing of works, on the one hand, a modern approach to submitting articles, a rigid review system on the other. And for myself, I concluded that at this stage, for the totality of signs, the best young journal for scientific publications is Journal of Medical Research and Innovation.
My congratulations!
Best Regards,

THE INFLUENCE OF ORGANOPHOSPHORUS COMPOUND DIMETHYLDICHLOROVINYL PHOSPHATE (AGONIST OF a7n-ACETYLCHOLINE RECEPTOR GTS-21) AND EPINEPHRINE ON CONCENTRATION OF PROINFLAMMATORY CYTOKINES IN BLOOD AND MORTALITY OF MICE IN SEPSIS P. F. Zabrodskii, V. V. Maslyakov, and M. S. Gromov Experiments on outbred albino mice showed that the effects of organophosphorus compound DDVP (dimethyldichlorovinyl phosphate, agonist of α7n-acetylcholine receptors GTS-21) in a single dose of 0.15 LD50 (5 mg/kg daily for 4 days) and epinephrine in a dose of 0.3 mg/kg (s.c. once daily for 4 days) in 4 h after sepsis modeling (intraperitoneal injexction of 24-h E. coli culture 2.5∙109 microbial bodies) significantly reduced the mortality of mice within 4 and 24 h and the blood levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 as compared to the parameters in sepsis without the use of drugs. The DDVP-induced decrease of mortality from sepsis in mice is associated with a decrease in the concentration of blood TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6 and is due both to the implementation of the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathways, particularly with the activation of 7n-acetylcholine receptors and excitation of the sympathetic nervous system. Keywords: organophosphorus compounds; epinephrine; α7n-acetylcholine receptor; sepsis; proinflammatory cytokines; sepsis; mice.

Kindly submit your articles for the second volume, issue one. There are no charges. The issue will be published in January, 2018. If the article is accepted post peer reviewed and on time, we will get it published in the first issue of the second volume itself.
We are also pleased to say that we have collaborated with Publons and TrendMD. One more thing, we will be now sponsored by Public Knowledge Project (Canadian Publishing platform) and subsequently, we will be able to get the CrossRef DOI's soon.
Let us all together make our (and not the) JMRI a good quality journal.

Humility has been little understood despite being an important part of the scientific writing. Many manuscripts with good data remain unpublished due to their lack of humility leading to repeated rejections. This Editorial aims to highlight the importance of humble writing and how it can be incorporated by authors it in their scientific methodology.

Introduction: Burst fractures of the spine account for 14% of all spinal injuries and more than 50% of all thoracolumbar trauma. However, there is ambiguity while choosing the right treatment plan. Short Segment Pedicle screw Fixation (SSPF) has become an increasingly popular method of treatment of thoracolumbar burst fractures, providing the advantage of incorporating fewer motion segments in the fixation. Various biomechanical studies showed that the use of pedicle screws could achieve stable construct within short-segment fixation. Aim: To evaluate the efficacy of SSPF using longest possible screws in both pedicles of fractured vertebra. Materials and Methods: A retrospective chart review of 25 single burst thoracolumbar fracture patients, operated between May 2009 to 2015 in a tertiary care trauma center, was conducted. Preoperative and post-operative plain radiographs were evaluated for kyphotic angulations using the traditional Cobb method. Anterior Vertebral Height (AVH), Posteriors Vertebral Height (PVH) were measured preoperatively and immediate postoperatively. Average percentage loss of AVH and mid-sagittal height were calculated on preoperative and postoperative X-rays on follow up. Results: Fourteen men and 11 women with an average age of 42.92 years comprised the study population. Mean age at the time of operation was 34.5±14.2 years. Mean operation time was 168±72 (minutes). Average hospitalization time was 9±7 (days). Mean blood loss was 515±485 (ml). There were two cases of postoperative infection and implant failure each. A mean of 15.2° of kyphosis correction was attained from preoperation to post-operation (p
