Project

AIDA H2020

Goal: AIDA brings a transformational innovation to the analysis of heliophysics data.
AIDA develops a new application (AIDApy) in selecting key heliophysics problems to produce a database (AIDAdb) of new highlevel data products that include catalogs of features and events detected by ML and AI algorithms.

The AIDA Virtual Instrument Package (AIDAvip) software is now part of AIDApy!
With AIDAvip, it is now possible to fly virtual spacecraft in simulated plasma environments, enabling users to have an efficient way of test and compare their ideas against real in-situ observations.

Python in Heliophysics Community (PyHC) promotes and facilitates the use and development of Python for Heliophysics. PyHC aims to provide a variety of tutorials, resources, a list of useful packages, general discussion, and advice. The majority of people are in the US but some are in Europe.
AIDA is part of PyHC: AIDApy is listed as a project (http://heliopython.org/projects/) and we try to participate as much as possible to the regular teleconferences and bi-annual meetings.

The first AIDA school has just ended and we are glad for the large number of people interested in it. Thanks to all the AIDA partner involved and a special thanks to:
  • Morris Riedel (Jülich Supercomputer Center and University of Iceland)
  • Geert Jan Bex (Flemish Supercomputer Centre, KU Leuven and Hasselt University)
  • Peter Wintoft (Swedish Institute of Space Physics)
for the valuable lessons.
The main objective of this school was to introduce the European heliophysics community to the domain of machine learning and data analysis.
See the dedicated page on the AIDA official website ( http://aida-space.eu/1stAIDAschool) for more informations about materials and view the registered lessons.
