Introduction
I am a Research and Extension Specialist at the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development at Purdue University, Department of Agricultural Economics. My work is in the broad area of community development to keep people in rural areas without compromising their well-being. I am also focusing on understanding the factors and conditions developing economic opportunities for rural small businesses using different tools and methods.

The NCR-Stat: Baseline Survey is the first of NCRCRD’s regional household surveys and includes questions related to topics crucial for household and community development and wellbeing. All data gathered via the NCR-Stat Baseline Survey will be available for those who would like to use the data as a baseline for further research and extend the portfolio of already existing databases.
The proposed research will identify the most important factors that predict the personal relationships of business owners with community bank representatives. The study will define and assess the adaptive capacity of rural small businesses and farms that had and did not have a personal relationship with their community banks during COVID-19.
