Introduction
Zlatko Bodrožić is a Professor of Digital Enterprise at the University of Liverpool. Zlatko's research focuses on the evolution of technologies, organizational paradigms/ management models, and public policy (see for example ASQ, March 2018; Organization Science, 2022). He studies the interplay of these three spheres in epochal transformation processes—in particular in the digital transformation and the transition to a sustainable society.

Over the last century and half, US industry has seen the emergence of several different management models, but we still understand little about the factors that drove their evolution. We propose a theory of this evolution based on three nested and interacting processes. First, we identify several successive waves of technological revolution, each o...
Coworking spaces are shared working environments in which independent knowledge workers gather. Coworking is consistently described in terms of community and collaboration—yet these terms are defined inconsistently in the coworking literature. This study reviews the literature on coworking to better examine how community relates to collaboration. T...
This paper develops and deploys a theoretical framework for assessing the prospects of a cluster of technologies driving what is often called the digital transformation. There is considerable uncertainty regarding this transformation’s future trajectory, and to understand and bound that uncertainty, we build on Schumpeter’s macro-level theory of ec...

We argue that to meet this challenge, we need to study the climate action capacity of alternative systems of political‐economic power. We proceed in three steps. First, we develop a historically grounded map of four...

It will include several sessions delivered by faculty members from the Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management and the Centre for S...
Entrepreneurship is frequently linked to desirable societal development while its associated social dysfunctions are ignored. This view is at the core of the ideology of entrepreneurialism. The standard explanation for entrepreneurialism's origin and evolution suggests that it is primarily driven by ideational forces and has expanded monotonically...
While we have seen some encouraging examples of firms that try to drive diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) practices into their supply chains, progress has been frustratingly slow. We argue that a key impediment today and a potential enabler tomorrow—and thus an important subject of operations and supply chain management (OSCM) research—is the...
To the surprise of many in the West, the fall of the USSR in 1991 did not lead to the adoption of liberal democratic government around the world and the much anticipated “end of history.” In fact, authoritarianism has made a comeback, and liberal democracy has been on the retreat for at least the last 15 years culminating in the unthinkable: the in...
