Introduction
I received my PhD. in Sociology from the Graduate Center, CUNY in 2018. For my dissertation, I studied racial subjectivities of Turkish immigrants in New York and the impact of ethnicity, religion and gender on their lived experiences.
As a cultural sociologist, I am interested in the layered processes of subject making by focusing on groups with multiple ethnic, national, and religious dynamics. My research interest broadly includes issues of immigration, gender, and culture.
