The study of school rituals has become increasingly diverse in worldwide, but there are few works that provide a comprehensive view of Chinese school rituals. This study attempts to start from the history of the school rituals in modern China and eventually abstract the general pattern of ritual practices in Chinese schools with the help of participant observation and interview. Besides, we will emphasize the mechanisms of realizing the educational functions of Chinese school rituals, so as to compare and dialogue with the practice models of school ritual in other countries.
