Introduction
I undertook my PhD with Prof. Wei-Yun Zhu, Nanjing Agricultural University, working on mixed co-culture of anaerobic fungi and methanogens. According to the findings in my PhD thesis, we are now focusing on the metabolic interaction between anaerobic fungi and methanogens in the rumen. During the last ten years, we obtained more than 30 co-cultures of anaerobic fungus and methanogen from the rumen and feces of several herbivores.
