A two-stage acid hydrolysis was carried out with different concentrations of perchloric acid using date palm frond. In the first stage, most of hemicellulose and crystalline cellulose were hydrolyzed, as well as lignin, which was partially decomposed. In the second stage, the hydrolysis of crystalline cellulose and some additional decomposition of l...

Wheat straw is an abundant lignocellulosic feedstock in many parts of the world, and has been selected for producing ethanol in an economically feasible manner. It contains a mixture of sugars (hexoses and pentoses). Two-stage acid hydrolysis was carried out with concentrates of perchloric acid, using wheat straw. The hydrolysate was concentrated b...

In this work a sensitive chemiluminescence (CL) method for the determination of urea was investigated using a reaction between hypobromite and urea in basic medium. The hypobromite (OBr-) was generated by on-line reaction of Br 2 with KOH, where Br 2 was previously generated by another on-line reaction of KBrO 3 with KBr in acidic medium. The propo...

During the last few years, the numbers of vehicles in a developing Erbil City in Kurdistan region - Iraq have increased rapidly which leads to increasingly high contamination of some heavy metals in the street dust around traffics. This research represents the level of heavy metals (Pb , Cd , Ag , Cr , Cu, Zn and Fe ) in the traffic street dust . T...
