Bez wątpienia pandemia koronawirusa jest obecnie najważniejszym wyzwaniem dla całej społeczności międzynarodowej. Wyjątkowość sytuacji, która generuje wiele trudności dla państw, szczególnie uwidaczniają działania na rzecz reagowania na kryzys COVID-19. Celem ścieżki badawczej jest udzielenie odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy państwom europejskim udało się opracować spójny model reagowania kryzysowego w obliczu nowego wyzwania o charakterze globalnym. Zespół badawczy skoncentruje swoje wysiłki na rzecz wyjaśnienia przyczyn braku/występowania wspólnego modelu reagowania kryzysowego w wybranych regionach Europy. Próba badawcza będzie składała się z państw, stanowiących reprezentatywne przykłady dla specyfiki poszczególnych części Europy. Aby osiągnąć cel badawczy, zespół naukowców podda analizie sekwencyjność reakcji wybranych państw przy użyciu metody porównawczej. Motywacją do podjęcia tak wieloaspektowych badań naukowych jest wyraźny deficyt w literaturze przedmiotu ram teoretycznych reagowania kryzysowego w dobie pandemii. Stworzenie modelu analitycznego umożliwi analizę innych przykładów niż wybrane przez badaczy, tworząc nowy wskaźnik klasyfikowania państw w okresie walki z koronawirusem. Ścieżka badawcza stanowi forum współpracy badaczy z różnych dyscyplin, a wyniki badań będą ważnym głosem w międzynarodowej debacie naukowej odnośnie do efektywności działań zainicjowanych przez państwa w obliczu wspólnego wyzwania.
