Introduction
Currently, I synthesize the literature and further analyzed data on Indigenous people in my study areas to: 1) identify gaps between Western scientific knowledge and traditional ecological knowledge (TEK); 2) assess my confidence in current estimates of the sustainability of Indigenous culture; and 3) propose future directions for Indigenous life science research by their subsistence and interventions. My study has been used an empirical rather than a romantic approach to conduct to clarify TEK.
