Introduction
My name is Wasan Alsiraih and I currently work as a Lecturer at University of Basrah. I do research in Phonetics and Phonology, particularly acoustic investigations. However, I have great interest in Sociolinguistics, particularly Sociophonetics, researching the varieties of Iraqi Arabic. I had my PhD in 2013 from Newcastle University/ UK. My most recent publication is 'Speech Variation in the Dialect of Basra' (2021).

I would like to upload the full text of my PhD onto here but it doesn't appear even after I am asked to open a file from my computer. I also tried to put the link to the thesis as it is stated on the university's website but when I do so it tells me the DOI you entered is structured incorrectly check it and try again!
