Tissue engineering combines cells, suitable physiochemical factors, materials, and engineering knowledge to replace or revamp living tissues. As an emerging field, it scavenges for newer materials and optimizes those for the application area. Natural polysaccharides like gellan gum, xanthan, and their nanocomposites have emerged as such biomaterial...

Question
I am trying to dissolve a hydrophobic drug in PBS (pH= 7.4) or Simulating Body Fluid (SBF) of other pH like 6.5 or 8. But it is hardly soluble.
If I add tween 80 or tween 20 in the PBS or SBF, then the drug is soluble. My question is will this addition change the pH or any condition that mimics the physiology of human body fluid (like buffering capacity)?
