Introduction
My current research interests are in the area of microbial biotechnology and bioprocess developement with the focus on fungal high-value metabolites such as lipids, chitin and chitosan, pigments and glucans. In addition, I am interested in bioprospecting of algae and bacteria. Further, I have a strong interest in vibrational spectroscopy as a techology for biochemical profiling of microbial cell factories on multi-scale level - cell populations, single cells and organelles.
