Introduction
I am an environmental and data scientist interested in understanding how Amazonian tree species respond to global change. Currently, I'm (1) a member of the Amazon Tree Diversity network - ATDN, (2) postdoc fellow at UFPA/ITV, and (3) teaching Computer Science at CESUPA.

Project
quantifing the effects of global change of all known Amazonian tree species, based on the most recent Amazonian tree species list, by overlapping species distribution models with deforestation projections and climate change scenarios for 2050. The project also aim to measure the ability of Amazonian protected areas in mitigating habitat loss and the reduction of species richness. Finally, all data will be analyzed according the criteria of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species, in order to evaluate the state of conservation of the Amazonian tree species. The impacts of the climate change on tree species on top of the deforestation, are still little explored, especially at the level of the Amazonia biome. Such estimates can be incorporated into polices on land use, natural resource use and biodiversity conservation.
