The purpose of the research is to study the localization of myxosporeans of the genus Kudoa Meglitsch, 1947 in body fish and possible ways for them to master organs and tissues in the process of evolution, the form of spores associated with localization, as well as the ways of their release into the environment and getting into new hosts. Materials...

PurposeMyxozoans are economically important group of metazoan parasites, which can cause diseases in a large variety of commercially important fishes. Increased knowledge on molecular features has shown that traditional descriptive characters may be misleading. Combination of both descriptive and molecular features is therefore necessary for an int...

Albina Gaevskaya (maiden name Yatsevich) was born on 21 August, 1937, in Sevastopol. She was a very beautiful child; perhaps, this was facilitated by the mixing of blood of representatives of different nations – Poles, Lithuanians, Italians, Ukrainians, Moldovans, Kazakhs, and Russians. As a child, Albina often fought with boys and gained her small...

The myxosporean fauna of the Black Sea is predominantly marine with a few brackish and freshwater species. Seasonal changes in water temperature influence the life-cycle of Black Sea myxosporeans primarily through the biology of the host. This is because the mass formation of spores in Myxosporea takes place when hosts form the largest shoals. The...
