The governments' isolation measures to contain the transmission of COVID-19 imposed a dilemma for the people at the bottom of the pyramid. Since these people have very unreliable sources of income, a dilemma arises: they must either work under risky conditions or refrain from work and suffer from income cuts. Emergency donations of food and cleanin...
The electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) industry requires a Circular Economy (CE) transition, and decision-makers need support to deal with the complexities of such change. The goal of this research is: (1) providing an SD-based conceptual model for CE systems that clarifies their potential for decelerated flow of resources; (2) providing a s...
In the last decade, business models for sustainability have gained increasing attraction by corporate sustainability scholars with international conferences and scientific journals encouraging the development of the debate on their design, use and innovation processes. Capitalizing on the basic principles, requirements, and methodological limitatio...
Renewable Energy Systems (RES) have been proposed as an effective solution for sustainable development. However, the impact of municipal contextual conditions on the development of RES is still unclear. One of the literature gaps is the lack of understanding of whether the balanced development of economic, social, and environmental aspects of susta...
The lack of quantitative mechanisms aimed at evaluating the potential business benefits of ecodesign prior to implementation is a major barrier to wider adoption in manufacturing companies. Ecodesign is defined as the consistent integration of environmental aspects into product development processes. Within this frame, there is a need to understand...

Punctuality has become a critical customer satisfaction feature in attended home deliveries (AHDs). Since much of a customer’s satisfaction is built upon expectations, the purchase context plays a key role, particularly in the face of recurrent or sporadic events. This study has two purposes. First, we investigate the effect of punctuality...
This paper aims to investigate delegation decisions in supply chains, exploring the metaphor that consumers who make environmentally and socially responsible choices are equivalent to voters in an election. We rely on the principles of agency theory to shed light on fundamental challenges that shape our ability to transform supply chains. This pape...

Food production and consumption systems are at the center of the sustainability debate. The alternative meat sector is emerging as a promising response to food production and consumption’s overwhelming environmental and social impacts, such as high carbon emissions, biodiversity destruction, pollution, food insecurity, and animal suffering. This ch...
Fresh food supply chains (FFSC) are pivotal in food and agricultural systems, with effective management crucial for addressing hunger and poverty globally and contributing to various Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Increasing consumer demand for safer, eco-friendly, and sustainably produced fresh products has highlighted the importance of sus...
A growing number of emerging Industry 4.0 technologies are claimed to be one of the most important enablers of the sought-after transition to the Circular Economy (CE). The technological aspects are of crucial importance for the establishment of CE as a solid paradigm. On the one hand, Industry 4.0 technologies can improve existing operations – thu...
The environment significantly influences individuals’ food choices. Vulnerable urban areas, such as favelas, can have a decisive impact on discouraging the consumption of fresh, nutritionally rich foods. This issue is exacerbated by the urban infrastructure required to deliver fresh foods to these locations. Therefore, it is essential to understand...

The overarching paradigm of circular economy has fundamentally challenged the established, linear supply chains across several industries and geographies. While this new paradigm has been increasingly driving transitions toward circular supply chains, its social potential and implications have not earn...
The textile sector is considered one of the most polluting sectors of society. In order to generate a transformation in value-added products from the textile production chain, the educational sector plays a strategic role. This paper validates theoretical propositions about teaching good practices in sustainability and circular economy. The theoret...
Business model innovation can be a key driver to realizing the transformation needed to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). At the same time, the SDGs can support organizations as they identify and tackle opportunities for business model innovation. This study uses a constructive research method to build a managerial ap...
Animal agriculture and the meat industry raise serious concerns regarding environmental, social, and animal welfare issues. The alternative protein industry has progressed globally, driven by circular economy practices, but the innovations in this industry need to be understood for further advances in circularization. This study examines the key en...
Public policies, incentives, and infrastructure are top-down instruments that can align stakeholders' roles and expectations for Circular Economy (CE) transitions, but it is crucial to analyse the possible effects of such instruments before implementation. This research investigates the Brazilian Industrial Agreement for Electrical and Electronic E...
This article is a perspective paper that provides a critical assessment of ESG's governance pillar. Specifically, we reflect on the implications of considering “governance” from a broader perspective, which combines corporate governance and the analysis of the governance mechanisms used by firms in the search for greater sustainability. We argue th...
Different organizational arrangements have supported the adoption of sustainable-oriented innovations (SOIs) in the agri-food industry. However, despite the promises of SOIs, diffusion has been slow. We claim that the gap between the creation and diffusion of SOIs is due to the neglect of the governance dimension of sustainable agri-food value chai...
Populations living in favelas are facing even more vulnerabilities with the sudden escalation of the COVID-19 pandemic, as social distancing is challenging in such settings. Furthermore, these populations typically lack proper sanitation and hygiene conditions, which are requirements to adequately control the outbreak. This paper proposes the use o...

This study has two purposes. First, we assessed the reliability and factor structure of the English-language version of the Entrepreneurial Behavior Scale. Second, we measured its convergent validity. We used two data sets from previous studies exploring entrepreneurial behavior among public school teachers in the United States. Data set #1 consist...
Adequate software selection among available alternatives in the market is considered one of the most critical factors for successful software implementation. Identifying the commercial software that could better support a company's business processes is a demanding effort. Current software selection methods do not always take advantage of the knowl...
This study attempted to identify the predictors of entrepreneurial behavior by assessing a series of variables that included teamwork skills and demographic variables, and to explore teachers' experiences with teamwork. A sample of 367 K-12 public school teachers completed the survey. The findings indicated that teamwork predicts entrepreneurial be...
