This paper reports on the implementation of the Apivectoring Technology for the first time in an experimental strawberry crop (Fragaria x ananassa) in Colombia. Honey bees (Apis mellifera) were used as vector of the bio-pesticide Trichoderma harzianum for the control of Botrytis cinerea in an experimental plot of strawberry, in which 6 treatments w...
In the high mountains of the Colombian Eastern Cordillera (~2000–3000 m above sea level), at the Altiplano Cundiboyacense region and surroundings, beekeepers have specialised in pollen production with substantial harvests all year round. Despite this productive advantage, the knowledge about plants used by honeybees as pollen resources is still lim...
Orchid bees are important keystone pollinators from the Neotropics. With the aim to study the relationships between orchid bees and their nectar and aromatic host species, we made systematic samplings of males across two conservation areas in the biogeographic Chocó Region of Colombia. We used chemical baits to collect 352 male bees during five mon...
A common denominator that affects the production areas is the dramatic loss of fertility and thus, the natural productive capacity of soils through a sustained process of erosion. The problem of soil loss was largely due to improper production practices, such as monoculture, chemical fertilizers, pesticides, intensive farming, genetically modified...

Through melissopalynological analysis, we determine the botanical origin of bee products (honey and pollen) and evaluate the dynamics on bee-plant interactions in different regions of Colombia. At the same time, we seek to improve the palynological collection of the Laboratorio de Investigaciones en Abejas LABUN - Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and to publish pollen catalogs that may serve as reference for further melissopalynological research.
