In recent years, use of chitosan (CS) nanoparticles as nanocarriers received much attention due to their bio-degradability, biocompatibility and non-toxicity. Water-soluble sulfated CS derivatives are widely used as anticoagulant and antiviral drugs. The chitosan sulfates (CSS) containing one-to-three sulfate groups were investigated using the DTF....
The molecular mass characteristics of chitosan sulfate obtained from chitin extracted from silkworm pupae were studied using fractionation and viscometry methods. Its polydispersity and medium-viscosity molecular weight were identified, the found values of length of segment A and their number in the chain indicate a high stiffness of the chains.
The degree of sulfation of chitosan samples obtained from the first time from chitin of Bombyx mori mulberry silkworm pupas was studied by conductometric titration. The extent of chitosan sulfation and a decrease in its molecular
weight were evaluated by IR spectroscopy and viscometry.
