Introduction
Graduated in 2000 as Valedictorian of 3 Engineering departments (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) from the Polytechnic School of Dundee University (Scotland), with a 1st class 4year Scottish honours in Electrical Engineering. He also obtained a 1st class MSc and Diploma (DIC) in Control from Imperial College, certificates in Management and Marketing from LSE and after preparing the French classe preparatoire and succeeding in entrance exams he entered the military Ecole Polytechnique of Paris (X99), from where he obtained the "Majeures d'Ingenieur Diplome de l' Ecole polytechnique" in applied mathematics and informatics, with mention "Honorable". He is working for a PhD at the Multimedia Technology Laboratory of NTUA in the domain of Optimal Knowledge Engineering, Energy ICT and hypercubic KDD Fusion. He has numerous Conference, Journal and Technical publications, three National Patents in Energy ICT, one Book and various speeches regarding Innovation , Energy ICT and IT services management in important events. He is a member of TEE, IEE, IEEE, BCS, IFAC, SEE and speaks fluently English, French, Spanish and Greek. Recently in 2010, Guidewire Group (USA) and Red herring (USA) short-listed Intelen as one of the top-100 innovative start-ups worldwide.

One of the main problems of modern Big Data theory applied to the energy domain, is that we need to extract correlations and combine variable states and situations in real-time. Those correlations are nor static but dynamic and are extremely difficult to be tracked in billions of streaming data. A stochastic building consumption that represents a c...

Peer assessment techniques are an effective means to take advantage of the knowledge that exists in web-based peer environments. Through these techniques, participants act both as authors and reviewers over each other’s work. However, as web-based cooperating environments continuously grow in popularity, there is a need to develop intelligent mecha...

The mass production of products and IT services in bank sectors, including the number and the complexity of processes required to operate efficiently, have had important improvements. The work that is presented in this paper is focused on the modelling of business processes that a banking organization follows, during the processes of a loan request...
Article
In this paper, a dropout prediction method for e-learning courses, based on three popular machine learning techniques and detailed student data, is proposed. The machine learning techniques used are feed-forward neural networks, support vector machines and probabilistic ensemble simplified fuzzy ARTMAP. Since a single technique may fail to accurate...

The increasing popularity of e-learning has created a need for accurate student achievement prediction mechanisms, allowing instructors to improve the efficiency of their courses by addressing specific needs of their students at an early stage. In this paper, a student achievement prediction method applied to a 10-week introductory level e-learning...

The development of high-quality e-learning products is one of the most demanding areas in the field of educational research. Reliability of the students’ grading mechanisms especially in the case of virtual classrooms, which lack in physical student-instructor interaction, is extremely important. In this paper, based on real data, we utilize two re...
