During field studies 2007-2008 it was found 15 nests of Buteo rufinus in the south part of Kiev administrative oblast. It is supposed that whole breeding population of this species in Kiev oblast is about 25 -30 pairs.

Results of bird counts in Goloseevskiy Forest (1052 ha) and two adjacent park areas (412 ha) located in Kiev city. All counted areas were under quite strong recreation impact. In total it was counted 65 bird species.
