Procedure:
1 eq. of 2 4 dihydroxyacetophenone + 2.5 eq. of MOM chloride + 3 eq. of K2CO3 in dry acetone keep it at 0 degree for 2 hours and then left it for 24 hours but still the 40% starting material is remaining, I worked up in cold water and then extract with ethyl acetate.
And it is reported procedure but still it can't be completed.
Can I put the flask under reflux condition?
