While self-compassion is considered a popular subject in academic journals at the moment, there is still a lack of knowledge about the impact of self-compassion on emotional well-being with regards to certain populations. For example, self-compassion remains a relatively new and, thus, almost unstudied concept in Russia. Still, it could be useful to study its effects on emotional experience of Russian population for a number of culture-related reasons. And, more generally, it would be interesting to see whether beneficial effects of self-compassion on emotional well-being, achieved in other populations, would be replicated among Russians.
