Introduction
Tom Ryall is emeritus professor in film history at the Humanities Research Centre, Sheffield Hallam University. Tom does research in Film History. His most recent publication is 'Rural imagery in Second World War British cinema' (2016), and his latest article, 'The Modern British Gangster Film', is due for publication in 2018.
