本研究は, 交通行動データを用いた実証的な分析を通じて, 非IIA型離散選択モデルの適用時に問題となる, 選択肢数が多い場合の推定の安定性, および選択肢集合の設定方法の妥当性を論じたものである. 分析の対象として, 東京都市圏の通勤鉄道経路選択行動, および日帰りの自動車観光目的地選択行動を取り上げ, 選択肢間の類似性に関する考え方とその定式化を行い, 構造化プロビットモデルと Mixed Logit Model の適用により10肢程度までのモデル推定を可能とした. さらに分析を通じて, 選択肢集合に含まれる選択肢効用レベル, および選択された選択肢と代替選択肢の類似性により推定パラメータが異なる様子を明らかにした.
