2. Describe results from this qualitative analysis, which found that community hospice nurses’ personal experiences...
Context and objective: The multifaceted demands of pediatric hospice work often discourage nurses from pursuing the career route and may overwhelm nurses who choose to do the work, risking burnout. The relationship between nurses’ personal experiences and their decisions to pursue this difficult work, as well as their ability to sustain it, has not...
Background: An inclusive, whole-child model of education is shifting the paradigm into an integrative mind-body approach. Toward contextualizing learning at the close of the cartesian era, the current work explores embodied instruction through the lens of a teacher whose primary focus is the integration of mind and body. Perhaps the longest standin...

Methods: Participants (n= 324) were yoga teachers/therapists recruited via virtual commun...

ACEs can occur in a number of ways with a myriad of potential outcomes, often making treatment choices difficult. During critical stages of neurodevelopmental growth, trauma makes a mark on the brain and b...
In response to the growing interest in mind-body practices as preventative, therapeutic and educational interventions, the current work describes the instrument development and validation process to address a gap in yoga research. Yoga is a mind-body practice used in clinical and school settings that uses an integrative curriculum which simultaneou...
This study was a qualitative examination of Kripalu’s 5-day residential yoga-based program for professionals, called RISE (Resilience, Integration, Self-awareness, Engagement).
The quantitative evaluation of this program has been published elsewhere (Trent et al., 2018).

Pajares (1992) suggests that without inquiry inclusive within a theoretical framework grounded in learning, research on education and instruction falls short. Butzer et al. (2016) offer a model...
Objective: There seems to be a relatively large number of formal school-based yoga programs being implemented in schools (Butzer, Ebert, Telles, & Khalsa, 2015). Pajares (1992) suggests that without inquiry inclusive within a theoretical framework grounded in learning, research in education falls short. To better understand the process of learning...
Objective: The instruction of yoga has grown rapidly in last few decades. According to the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), in 2007 yoga was the sixth most popular ‘complementary health activity and is on the rise (Barnes & Bloom, 2008). Research on the topic is also increasing which has expanded exponentially in the last ten years (Khalsa,...

Though studies on yoga as a therapy have shown to improve social, emotional, and physical well-being, research has not yet explored the role of instruction in a strategic or experimen...
