Urban populations are snowballing, increasing household (HH) water consumption. The growing housing density, the expanding infrastructure, and altered land use patterns place increasing pressure on the water supply and usage. This makes it harder for urban HHs to obtain clean water and worsens water scarcity, with infrastructural and environmental...

Urban morphology studies define how settlements are formed to support human activities. Population, urban activity, and land use can influence transportation choices, such as decreased public transit availability in high-density locations due to increased expenses. The research gap between urban morphology and transport preferences leading to issue...

A dynamic combination of environmental, social, and economic factors shapes and manages the urban landscape. Understanding these factors behind urban growth can help us discern more about its past and future. This study examines the fractal dimension of the built-up area (BUA) boundaries of two municipalities in the emerging South Bengal Region (SB...

Urban morphology is an essential tool for understanding the urban areas and cultures of emerging economies. It helps to examine a region's physical shape, layout, or evolution to understand its history, dynamics and consequences of urban growth on local communities. These criteria reveal the policies and practices needed to boost socioeconomic prog...

India accounts for almost 4% of the world's water resources and 18% of the world's population, and India ranks 120th of the 122 countries in the global water quality index, with almost 70% contamination (NITI Aayog, 2020). Tripathi (2018) says that based on the current situation, nearly 40% of Indians won't have access to drinking water by 2030. Th...

The impacts of uncontrolled development may be catastrophic in areas experiencing fast population expansion and climatic variability, so the South Bengal Region, adjacent to Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC), is facing similar threats. It is essential to monitor such Land use and land cover changes (LULC) in a rapidly urbanizing country like Indi...

Continuous urban-rural migration between 1991 and 2001 has caused significant land use land cover (LULC) changes around core urban areas in Indian Urban areas. These expansions, through outgrowths and developments in urban-rural fringe areas, significantly impact the environment; therefore, it is essential to monitor LULC changes to promote sustain...

Water is an essential part of the landscape, and urban planning in densely urbanized areas in the Satellite Town of Kolkata, the Rajarhat New Town area. This review article highlights the trans-formations of urban livelihood and the low-lying areas of Rajarhat New Town since the 1990s. Today, the region's natural drainage and wetland system remains...

Question
Hi,
I am looking for the latest data of population from authentic sources/government authorities for anytime between 2012-2021. It will be for my study area, South 24 Parganas district, West Bengal. Any leads/contacts for acquiring the same will be of great help for my research work.
Thank you.

Question
I intend to perform a factor analysis to identify the cause-effect relationship and extract the important variables in my study area for the changing urban morphology. I will perform perception surveys to understand the impact and experience of the local people and Cochren sample survey formula to identify the sample size.
Question
How do we understand the efficiency levels between the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) Regression Model & Exploratory Regression (spatial statistics) when deriving models for spatial parameters related to urban form?
