Dr. Taras Danko is a Professor of International Business at Economics, Management and International Business Institute, National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute," Ukraine. He heads International Business 4.0 Laboratory where his research interests primarily focus on corporate foresight in international business, the fourth industrial revolution in the emerging markets context, and international business digitalization.

While the phenomenon of the Fourth Industrial Revolution is well-described and supported by many particular cases, the overall picture remains meager. The scale of the Fourth Industrial Revolution's disruptive impact on the global economy is unclear. Thus, how do we measure the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on the global economy nowadays? What are the currently available shreds of evidence of the Fourth Industrial Revolution's impact on the global economy in terms of resources relocation and industries restructuring? How dramatic is this impact? How do we measure it? What are the variables? What data or literature would you recommend in this respect?

What do we know about corporate foresight implementation in the international business domain? Is it enough? Yes, we understand that MNCs, which coincidently are an important unit of analysis in international business studies, are the most rigorous adopters of foresight and scenario planning in the business administration field. Many cases and studies soundly support this statement. Yet, the international business theory remains reluctant regarding this phenomenon in general. The place, role, distinctive features of corporate foresight implementation in the international business managerial domain remains an undiscovered mystery. Isn't it a time to break the silence?

We believe that historically universities have always played an important role in enabling sustainable solutions diffusion worldwide. Yet, the question of what makes universities capable of doing this more effectively and with greater impact requires more rigorous attention in a time when humanity faces unprecedented existential challenges. This is accompanied by a set of questions on how to enhance the capacity of universities in sustainable solutions diffusion. What should be the learning space that inspires sustainability thinking? Responsible business thinking? Moreover, it is evident that the business sector and industry in many countries are lagging behind in embracing sustainability thinking and sustainability practices in their daily operations. Thus, we suggest that universities can play a greater role as the nodes of cross-border sustainable business practices transfer in the Partner Countries. The key to unlocking this capacity is to apply an institutional-based view to universities’ role in national sustainability frameworks.
