Question
Anyone has done /has seen an Actor-Partner Interdependence Model analysis where predictors are categorical? If yes, please share the reference or give advice for the practical part: how to do it in AMOS or Mplus, eventually in SPSS?
Shortly on my data: heterosexual couples, each of the partners has a group membership variable (1 to 4, representing four discrete, not linearly arranged pesonal goal orientation categories, e.g., oriented toward relationship, toward health, etc.). Outcomes are continous: relationship satisfaction scores of the partners.
Question
Person-centered (or person-oriented) approach – in contrast to variable centered one – is more and more frequently used to analysis of individuals, e.g. personality traits. Did you meet any theoretically based papers and/or empirically sound studies where this analytical toolkit (e.g. various clustering methods, Latent Class Analysis and Latent Profile Analysis) was used for DYADIC data? Dyadic data is commonly analyzed by Actor Partner Interdependence Model (APIM) which is clearly a variable centered method. May be there examples of an alternative pattern oriented approach? How can these kind of results be interpreted? Any hints are highly appreciated!
Question
I searched for some references on cotherapy in couple and family therapy and I realized that there are practically no recent publications on this topic nor are there any reflections on the specific case when the cotherapist team itself consists of a couple. My questions focus on the latter case here: 1. do you know reliable scientific/professional information or reflection on the possible advantages and eventual drawbacks of working together as a therapist couple in couple therapy? 2. eventually, do you have personal experiences on the same question (either as couples working together, or as a fellow professional knowing couples working this way)?
