I'm doing research on feline semen cryopreservation. Recently, my Local Ethical Committee disagreed to use privately owned cats for semen collection, arguing that a domestic cat is a laboratory animal and all the experiments must be performed on cats from experimental colonies.
There is no such colony of cats in Poland - does anybody know where it would be possible to perform an experiment in which I need to collect (by urethral catehetrization after medetomidyne administration) and cryopreserve semen three times from the same male?
I would be grateful for any info.

I need to buy an osmometer for my research, but I have no idea which one and what to pay attention to. Could anybody recommend me a manufacturer or even a particular model?
Important thing to me is a small volume of measured sample and a range of osmolality between 75 mOsm and 1200 mOsm.
I would be grateful for any advice.
Question
I have tried several different extenders (from phisiological saline,PBS, via different types of TRIS to HTF), but for all of them the motility was not good (<50%) and when I diluted (1:10) the samples for CASA and flow cytometry, all the sperm died... Did anybody had the same problem? How to fix this?
