RiverCare (http://www.ncr-web.org/rivercare/about) is a Dutch research program. 21 researchers at 5 universities collaborate with knowledge institutes, consultancies and government organizations. RiverCare aims at better understanding the fundamental processes that drive eco-morphological changes in rivers, predict the intermediate and long-term developments. We use that knowledge to improve river governance, reduce maintenance costs and increase benefits of river interventions. We want to put our knowledge into practice not only in the Netherlands but also abroad.
