A longer, (122 p). version of the freely and widely shared white paper on the web called "9 levels of increasing embrace." Interesting that there is no category for white papers and material that is part of any adult development course across the world. The paper has also been translated into Japanese and Russian. Isn't that a kind of peer review...

Jane Loevinger’s theory of adult development, termed ego development (1966) and more recently maturity development, provides a useful framework for understanding the development of the self throughout the lifespan. However, few studies have investigated its neural correlates. In the present study, we use structural and functional magnetic resonance...

This article raises some fundamental concerns about the current integral movement and its assertions about what we know and what is going to happen in the future. Many integral adherents seem to be attracted to the "good news" aspects of the integral message. The idea that more of every kind is better pervades recent writings: more cognitive comple...

In the following chapter, I offer some observations on the shifting winds in the field of ego-development theory and testing from the perspectives of both a veteran scorer with a scientist-researcher mindset and a seasoned practitioner in applying the results to support people in their developmental journeys. In this brief expose I take the pulse o...

Electroen...

In this article, the authors introduce the concept of ego development stages as increasingly complex and flexible systems of meaning making. An understanding of ego development stages can help...
Article

The authors introduce the integral model of the self-system and, using that model, describe the dynamics of healthy growth and the development of psychogenic pathology. Self-identification is described as “sliding” in nature, and stage theories for self-related lines are outlined to help clinicians understand the characteristics of each stage the s...

This paper introduces the concept of action logics as increasingly complex and flexible systems of meaning-making to the management field. It adds the developmental perspective (vertical transformation) to the training and development concept of growth as lateral expansion. It outlines the major shift from viewing people mostly as different types t...

This paper explores whether the highest stage in ego development is indicative of ego-transcendence as I initially surmised. Overall, I will explore some of the similarities and differences between rational awareness of the limits of representational thought and genuine postsymbolic knowing. I will present the research territory with a linear and a...

Our nightly descent into dreaming is an initiation that can enhance our expansion, create new possibilities, open the mind and the heart, and reintroduce us to our soul. There are layers of meaning, personal and collective, to our dreams, both Little Dreams and Big Dreams. Dreams can provide a map of possibilities, with which we learn about the fut...
