Reusing building components save waste and avoids extraction of virgin resources. This project zooms in on the reuse of load-bearing components, including aspects of urban mining, structural analysis and design approaches.
This project focuses on the implementation of bending-active components in reciprocal frame structures. The aim is to develop low-tech, rapidly assembled and potentially reconfigurable systems by combining the simple connectivity of reciprocal structures with the elastic formation of active-bending.
Exploration of the design, modelling, behaviour and realisation of deployable and rapidly assembled structures using elastic deformation as a kinetic formation technique
