Introduction
My research focuses primarily on aquatic entomology, stream ecology and biological monitoring of environmental quality. I faced issues related to both basic (with studies in ecology, systematics, biology and biogeography of some groups of aquatic insects) and applied research (such as the development of biological monitoring systems in Italy and in some Neotropical countries and the analysis of the impact of climatic changes and anthropogenic disturbances on river communities).
